Your Purpose. Our Passion.

Investment Management

Investment Management is the design, implementation, and on-going management of your investment portfolio(s), on a discretionary basis. In a discretionary investment management arrangement, you delegate the ongoing monitoring and management of your investment portfolio(s) to us, through Commonwealth’s Preferred Portfolio Services (PPS) investment platform.

For new clients, our Investment Management Engagement requires at least $1,000,000* of liquid investable assets, and a minimum of $25,000 per account.

When you become an Investment Management client, we will complete an in-depth risk profile and provide you with a written Investment Policy Statement, which details an investment strategy that is consistent with your objectives, risk tolerance, and liquidity needs. Our Investment Management process is governed by the following principles:

  • Objectivity – We are independent and typically work on a fee basis. Our only incentive is to generate good results.
  • Asset Allocation – We believe in strategic asset allocation, but we also selectively employ tactical asset allocation when we determine that there are opportunities to underweight or overweight certain asset classes.
  • Discipline – Our discipline is based on rational decision rules and fundamental analysis. This mitigates sloppy decision making and emotionally based decision errors.
  • Best of Breed – Our proprietary and exceptionally in-depth third party research helps us to identify some of the world’s most highly skilled managers.

*While we truly enjoy taking on new clients, serving our current clients will always be our highest priority. In order for us to provide the best advice and service to our clients, it is necessary to limit the number of clients our firm serves. Unless a prospective client is related to a current client, it is unusual for us to accept Investment Management engagements with families that have less than $1,000,000 of investable assets, and a minimum of $25,000 per account. However, we do reserve the right to make exceptions to this minimum based upon other factors.
